When the world is falling apart (e.g. your company lays off 10% of its workforce; your nest egg dwindles to a doody because of economic turmoil), sometimes it's best to turn your attention to incredibly cute things.
Bunnies, crossword puzzles and pugs make excellent diversions.

as a comparison, only the worst news -from the economy to layoffs to the proliferation of paranoia - could make the idea that pugs are cute feasible. crosswords, on the other hand, are beautiful! cheer up, it's only castles burning.
My friends Tom and Julie in San Mateo have a pug. One day there circulated an announcement about a party for pug owners, to be held in Hillsborough. On party day, there were around 30 pugs in the swimming pool.
