Foo and Loathing in Palo Alto
Wrapping up the 4th of July weekend, Foo and a number of her Electric Kool-Aid appreciative friends went to see the documentary, "Gonzo: The Life and Work of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson."
Granted, I was in kindergarten when Thompson descended on Las Vegas to chase the American Dream through a drug-induced haze, but I grew to appreciate him in the 80s through his work in Rolling Stone magazine.
If he feared anything, Thompson knew how to hide it well. "I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence or insanity to anyone," he once said, "but they've always worked for me." He died as violently as he lived: Hemingway-style.
The moral of this story: don't do drugs, kids—but check out this movie. Good stuff.

Thanks for the nice review and the good advice for all us kids, Mama Foo. It sure was great to be together around our American Holiday. Love from Leta and me to you, Bunny, and Bob, the Intrepid.
